Control-Focus-Breathing

We try to control all aspects of the game: the swing; the ball flight; the roll of the putt. Of course, to control all of these parts of the game, you first have to have control over your mind.

Even experts in meditation don’t have complete control of their thoughts and their mind. But, you can improve your mental control.

On the course try slow, deep, rhythmic breathing. “Breathe in” your beautiful surroundings.  Smile.  Keep things in perspective.

Before a round, get some quiet time by yourself, even if it is in the “throne room”.  Meditate if you know how.  If not, get by yourself, even if it is tying your shoes, fiddling with your clubs, or walking away from everyone for a few moments. Do your deep breathing. Calm your thoughts.
